No Code Red for Cuero

This is not a story about a flavor of Mountain Dew no longer available in the city. This is a story about emergency notifications for the city of Cuero, where the use of the CodeRed emergency notification system will no longer be used.

After the CodeRed notification system was used for a year, city officials have decided that it's more efficient to simply use social media, namely the city Facebook page to keep residents informed of emergencies. Oficials say residents will need to follow the official page to see the information.

Officials say they had the system in place last year during Hurricane Harvey, but they used social media to keep residents informed.
