Drinking and driving is a serious issue in the state of Texas. According to official Texas Department of Transportation statistics, there were 1,041alcohol-related traffic deaths last year, amounting to nearly one third of all traffic deaths on Texas highways.

That's why a number of traffic safety officers from multiple law enforcement agencies will be out in force this weekend looking for traffic law violators of all kinds, especially those driving while under the influence.

The DWI Task Force will be operating a 'No Refusal" weekend, which means officers will obtain a search warrant for anyone suspected of DWI who doesn't provide a specimen.

Enjoy your weekend but, by all means, don't drink and drive!
