J.J. Watt Up for NFL Man of the Year

Every year the NFL gives the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award to the player who makes contributions to their community and this year, the Houston Texans J.J. Watt is among the finalists for his work fundraising for victims of Hurricane Harvey.

Watt originally wanted to raise $200,000 for hurricane relief, but the final tally was way beyond that, to the tune of $37 million, and he raised it in just 19 days. Keeping with his humble attitude, Watt was quoted as saying

"the nomination is about so much more than one man, it's about the hundreds of thousands of people who helped donate to those who went through an extremely difficult time and rose above it all."

The award will be presented on February 3rd at the NFL Honors ceremony.

The Houston Texans defensive star is a 3-time Defensive Player of the Year.
