If you've ever bought a gift card, you know how they work. You choose the card and the amount the card is worth is added at the register when you pay for them. I wouldn't have imagined that they could be stolen very easily since they need to be handled by the cashier first but, that's exactly what happened in this week's Victoria Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week.

According to a press release, in August of 2017, two subjects scammed the clerk of a local store into loading several store gift cards with money and then left the location without paying for them. Investigators are looking to identify the subjects shown in this surveillance footage in connection with this scam.
