Wouldn't it be great if we had a place to take man's best friend for a little fun, besides just a walk around the neighborhood? That's the idea behind a proposed dog park in Riverside Park.

The Victoria Parks & Recreation Commission is raising funds for the proposed park, which would be in what is currently the Horseman's Club Arena, with a Bark for the Park set for Saturday (July 25th) in the Special Events Area, at 311 Memorial Drive in Riverside Park.

The event runs from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., and it includes a dog walk, a dog agility performance, an obedience demonstration, and a Dunkin' for Weenies Contest.

The cost is $20 per dog but, remember it goes for a great cause. Help raise funds for a dog park right here in Victoria. Fido will thank you for it!
